SUDDEN CHANGES IN TEMPERATURE:

IMPORTANT FACTOR FOR RESPIRATORY REACTIONS

Sudden Changes in Temperature are considerable one of important factors for the respiratory reactions. Sneezing, cough and runny nose are among the most frequent manifestations.

Respiratory symptoms, mostly, product of climatic changes, are observed more frequently between the winter months, period that is where the cold settles. When sudden changes in the weather occur, such as the abrupt drop in temperature, people, especially those with an allergic history, easily go into decompensation if they are not protected and do not maintain strict control with their trusted doctor.

A laryngitis can trigger in an obstructive allergy symptom, like bronchiolitis and asthma, the later classified as a chronic disease with a significant mortality rate if it is not treated in a timely manner.

The allergic rhinitis is another affection that requires specialist monitoring. In this group is the common cold that brings with it a nasal constipation and permanent discharge.

We advise you to go to the nearest doctor if you have a fever (greater than 38°), throat pain, cough, muscle and join pain, stuffy and runny nose, lack of appetite, headache, fatigue, respiratory distress, to receive the corresponding treatment. Likewise, carry out a permanent control of allergic symptoms and urges not to self-medicate, which implies avoiding the consumption of medications without prior prescription from the doctor.

Remember that timely consultation with the doctor can prevent complications.

The transmission of the flu or influenza virus occurs from person to person through small droplets that are generated by talking, coughing or sneezing. It is also transmitted when touching surfaces contaminated with the virus, such as, for example: handles, toys, telephones, railings, keyboards, etc., which is why the practice of hygienic habits plays a fundamental role in prevention.

It is advisable to emphasize:

Handwashing. Frequent hand hygiene is the main preventive measure against this and other diseases. It is recommended to do it after touching the mouth, nose and eyes, and especially after coming into contact with secretions (saliva and mucus). Do not forget to sanitize before eating and preparing food and after using the bathroom.

Covering up when coughing or sneezing. This practice is essential to prevent the flu virus from spreading and is accomplished by covering your mouth and nose with an inside corner of your elbow or with the help of a tissue. Covering with your hand is not recommended, as this can spread the virus to people and objects. It is advisable to wear a mask if you have respiratory symptoms
